Screen Northants Community uses the Film Industry for the good of Northamptonshire. Whether it's running film workshops for disadvantaged young people or bringing together the community through the production of professional films, we work in partnership with schools, charities and community organisations to provide free opportunities in the Film Industry.
Screen Northants Community helps the people of Northants to:
- build transferable life, literacy and work skills
- celebrate Northants, its history and culture on an international stage
We also run a film festival for Northampton www.northamptonfilmfestival.co.uk
To date Screen Northants, formerly known as Reelscape Community, has produced a number of short films including One Good Deed, a drama for Holocaust Memorial Day 2016 made with a professional crew and Northampton residents, and Iím Still Me, a film of a theatre play on LGBT themes devised by Northampton School for Boys. Screen Northants has also run workshops for young people on Film Production and creating our Film Location Database for Northampton including photography and marketing skills.
"My dream is to perform and you let me do that. You gave me an insight of what filming is really like and that it does take a lot of work. If anything you have prepared me for the opportunities that are waiting for me. I canít say how grateful I am for that. You have taught me a lot, you gave me the confidence boost I needed."
